An Item to Get Him Started

February 8th, 2012

When my brother came to my home one day he told me something pretty interesting. He told me that he was planning on changing careers pretty soon. At first I thought that this was shocking because he loved his job but, I continued to listen to his plans. I asked him what new career to he was going to get into and he told me that he was going to be a DJ next because he had been wanting to do it for a very long time. I knew that I had to be supportive of my brother so I told him that I would help him out with his so called DJ dream. I go him some equipment to get him started or should I say one piece of equipment to get him started. What I got him was some powered monitor speakers and I really hope his dream job works out.

You Can Teach Yourself to Sing

January 29th, 2012

It is really not necessary to sign up for basic singing lessons when you can teach yourself to sing at home. Those who think they cannot sing or hit a correct note, often find that because they are being timid and trying to sing softly. When you find yourself at home alone, take a deep breath and sing out as loud as you can and you will find that in this way it is much easier to hit the right notes.

This is because breathing is very important in singing, and the necessary amount of air must be introduced to send out a clear note; just like playing a wind instrument. You can teach yourself to sing much higher notes than you thought possible, and also to go much lower. You should never strain your voice however, and don’t attempt to go too high too quickly, but take it in stages; a little at a time.

Don’t Tell Me This is Perfect

January 12th, 2012

There has never been a year in music when bad songs haven’t been made. Anyone can write a song and any record company will release it if they think it will make enough money.

People often say that music from a certain decade was great and that it couldn’t have been better. There are certainly great decades in music but I think any decade could have been better if you could cut out the really bad songs!

I’m sure there’s a lot of 70s music that has been released and forgotten about ever since. There was also a lot of great 70s music that is still loved and played today. Many people still idolize some of the big stars and musicians from back then even today.

We often think of the past as better than the present and though this may be the case, it is important to remember that no period in time is perfect. This applies to music as well as all other fields in life.

My Son is Actually Going to Take Online Guitar Lessons

November 22nd, 2011

Having a preteen boy in the house is an everyday adventure that is for sure. I love watching those teen shows with him and just cracking up with laughter. They are so funny at times I just get so tickled by them. We were watching one evening when this kid was actually taking online guitar lessons right there on his computer. I was a little surprised to see that myself, but my son was super excited to see it. He started telling me that he wanted to learn the guitar to and he could figure out how he could do it online just like the kid on television.

I tried to pacify him by telling him that I would definitely look into it. But I knew in the long run I would probably not choose that option for him, just simply because his self discipline is not very good at his age. But not very many preteen boys have very good self discipline as it is. So really what was I expecting, a miracle? I decided that evening to talk to my husband and see what he thought about hour son taking guitar lessons online. I did not want to make my husband be the “decision maker”. But truly I did not see any other way to make this edition.

So of course my son sat on the edge of the living room couch as soon and as my husband walked in the door he steadied himself for my question. I set my has been down and explain to the entire program to him and asked what he thought. And to my surprise I hasn’t thought it was an excellent idea! With my son getting the answer he wanted he’d jump death in the air and drew his hands up in the air!
