My new favorite diaper

It's been a while since I raved about a new diaper on the market, but I LOVE the bumGenius bamboo fitteds. I decided I better see what all the bamboo fuss was about, so ordered just one to try on Joanna. LOVE it. We've been using it a few months now, and it's as soft as new. Plus very trim, and a good level of absorbency, at least at her age. I'll have to try it on Blake and post an update.

My assistant also tried one out for her son (20 months) and she's raving, too!

Love my bib clips

Just a quick thought since they saved me again last night...

Having a couple pair of bib clips in the diaper bag has already saved me many times! Whether it's a spur of the moment decision to eat out, a trip to grandma's without packing bibs, or me just simply forgetting that a bib might be necessary for a toddler eating chips and salsa, it's so great to have them in the diaper bag all the time. I do usually have extra burp cloths packed for Joanna, so one of those and the clips make an instant bib for Blake!

He's on his way

So I try not to post about non-store stuff very often, but this morning I'm sitting at the computer much earlier than usual (6:15 a.m. is not usually human for me), because my husband is taking our oldest son to the airport. He's heading back to Ft Bragg, preparing for deployment to Afghanistan in a few days.

I'm much calmer than I thought I would be. I'm not panicked about the Army or about Afghanistan, he's got a lot of people praying for him, and a lot of angels watching over him. I'm just melancholy that it will be such a long time before we see him again! His baby sister will change so drastically in a year or more. And is Blake old enough now (almost 3) to hold on to the special relationship he has with his big brother without seeing him for a long time? I'm sure we will keep it alive by looking at pictures and talking about Kyle (or "Ty" as Blake has dubbed him).
