New from Happy Heinys

Well I have to say the sherpa fitted diapers really exceeded my expectations! They're what I would call a "luxury" diaper. I can't wait to try one out on Blake. Now I just have to get time to get them listed! With Des Moines Symphony rehearsal every night this week, the days just go by too quickly! But I'll be sitting on stage about 5 feet from Itzhak Perlman, so it'll be worth the work. ;-) Also in my box from Happy Heinys I got the new microfiber Stuffins, so have to get those listed, too. Before I do that, though, I must get these orders out! Moby wraps continue to move like crazy. This morning I get to see my friend's new baby, and of course I'm loaning her my Moby wrap. :-)

Mmmmmm - "yummy" Wonderoos!

A new box of Wonderoos arrived today, this time with all of the new colors. I love color, so I was a happy gal processing this arrival! This was my first look at the new grape and raspberry, and they're almost yummy enough to eat.

If you're not familiar with them, Wonderoos are a one-size pocket diaper. The soft suedecloth wicks moisture away from your baby's skin. And once they're stuffed, they're so convenient to put on. They fit *most* babies 8 - 35 lbs. Our Blake has a pretty chubby waist, so he outgrew the waist snaps at about 10 months. But I think now that he's running around a lot more, he may be growing back into them. I haven't tried them on in a while. Babies that aren't quite so chubby usually are able to wear them throughout the diapering years.

Bumkins Cat in the Hat print is HERE!

My latest Bumkins shipment arrived today, including the new Cat in the Hat print, to add to their Seuss collection (the "One Fish Two Fish" print came out earlier this year). It's SO cute! It is available in:

All-in-One Diapers
Bibs
Training Pants
Wet Bags

Take a moment - take a peak. I wish you all could come see them in person! :-)

Cloth vs Disposable Diapers

So for anyone who's been asked, "Why in the world would you use cloth diapers?" I now have your answer ready! I wrote up my own reasons for using cloth and posted them here: http://www.thestorkwearhouse.com/cloth-vs-disposable-diapers.htm

Feel free to send this link to friends and family that just don't understand your decision! You never know when you might have a new convert...

Wow, I'm in "clearance" mode!

I just added the lighter weight Stacinator Stretch Merino Wool Covers to our Specials page. These may not work for heavier wetters at night, although we use them with no problem over a Happy Hempy. But even if you only use them during the day, they are SO SOFT! Anyone who thinks wool covers would be scratchy really needs to try one of these. :-) And they really are the healthiest thing you can use as a cloth diaper cover - allows your baby's skin to breathe, keeps the temperature down to discourage bacteria growing, etc.

The color selection is pretty good if you act now ;-)
  • Buff
  • Cinnamon
  • Bright Teal
  • Peach
  • Purple
  • Dark Teal
  • Wine
  • Lime

Help me clean out that drawer to make more room for things like Wallypop All-in-Ones, which currently don't have a "home spot" in my display area.

Giving in to temptation

Customers who come to my "store" in person often comment, "I don't think I could control myself having all these beautiful diapers sitting here in my house!" Well, I've frankly been surprised at how seldom I "purchase" things out of our inventory for personal use. But I did it this week for more Happy Hempys. They are by far our favorite night time diaper, used under Stacinator Stretch Day/Night Wool covers. I haven't been washing as often lately, so needed one more. :-) By the way, I like to use them with Stuffins the next size down. For instance, we use large Hempys with medium Stuffins.

So of course since I was invoicing those to myself anyway, I also pulled some more Baby's Milk Bath for Blake, White Chocolate Whipped Shea Butter for myself, and a gift diaper for my friend's baby's christening (love that Happy Heiny's Crowns print). Mmmm, sometimes it is a lot of fun having a store in your front room!

A few Bumkins All-in-One prints on clearance

I've taken a few of the Bumkins prints that we won't be restocking and put them on clearance. I need to make room for the new Cat in the Hat print!! Just you wait - it's adorable. It's on order in All-in-Ones, Bibs, and Wet & Dry Totes. Of COURSE I'll post another message when I'm unpacking that box!! :-)

Wonderoos are here!

I unpacked the box of the new Wonderoos last night - the only new color I ordered was Lime Green, and it's different than I expected. It's more the color of limes (go figure) than the neon lime I'm used to in other diapers. Plus, since Wonderoos is donating $1 of every diaper sold in September to Hurrican Katrina Relief, I'll kick in another $1 for each diaper.
